While here, head into the wilderness, for the White Mountain communities are surrounded by the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, more than two million acres of wilderness and recreational fun – the center of White Mountains Camping. Perhaps you enjoy “roughing it” so pitch a tent, sit back and enjoy the peaceful, quiet that the White Mountain wilderness area has to offer. You will find many developed and dispersed camping areas to choose from.

An easy way to get vertical is to visit Sunrise Park Resort. Winter months provide opportunities to ski at Arizona’s largest ski area or, if you prefer to view the scenic views during the summer, a scenic chair lift ride offers fantastic views and access to descending trails. The White Mountains offer many other activities as well…..touring historical sites that provide a view of pioneer life in the west and experience our Native American culture the many shops in the area.
